Terms and Conditions for Car Rental Services

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for an account and using our car rental services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from us, you must:

• Be at least 21 years of age (25 years for certain vehicle categories)
• Hold a valid driver's license for at least 2 years
• Possess a valid South African ID or passport for foreign nationals
• Have a valid credit or debit card in your name

3. Rental Agreement

Each rental is subject to a separate rental agreement that you must sign before taking possession of the vehicle. The rental agreement includes:

• Vehicle details and condition
• Rental period and rates
• Insurance coverage and excess amounts
• Fuel policy and mileage limits
• Additional driver information (if applicable)

4. Payment Terms

Payment for rentals must be made in South African Rand (ZAR). We accept:

• Major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
• Debit cards
• EFT transfers (subject to prior arrangement)

A security deposit will be held on your credit/debit card during the rental period and released upon vehicle return, subject to damage inspection.

5. Insurance and Liability

All rentals include basic insurance coverage. However, you remain liable for:

• The insurance excess amount in case of damage or theft
• Damage to tires, windscreen, and undercarriage (unless additional coverage is purchased)
• Traffic fines and toll fees incurred during the rental period

You may purchase additional insurance coverage to reduce your excess liability.

6. Vehicle Use Restrictions

The rental vehicle must not be used for:

• Illegal purposes or activities
• Racing, testing, or competitive driving
• Towing or pushing other vehicles
• Driving on unsealed roads (unless vehicle is designated for off-road use)
• Transporting hazardous materials
• Sub-letting or re-renting to third parties

7. Driver Responsibilities

As the renter, you are responsible for:

• Maintaining the vehicle in good condition during the rental period
• Returning the vehicle with the same fuel level as at pickup
• Reporting any accidents or damage immediately
• Complying with all South African traffic laws and regulations
• Ensuring the vehicle is locked and secured when not in use

8. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made:

• More than 48 hours before pickup: Full refund less administration fee (R500)
• 24-48 hours before pickup: 50% refund
• Less than 24 hours before pickup: No refund

No-shows will forfeit the entire rental amount.

9. Vehicle Return

Vehicles must be returned:

• On the agreed date and time (late returns incur additional charges)
• To the agreed return location (relocation fees apply for different locations)
• In the same condition as received (normal wear and tear excepted)
• With the same fuel level as at pickup (or full tank if full-to-full policy applies)

10. Roadside Assistance

24/7 roadside assistance is provided for mechanical breakdowns. Contact our emergency line immediately in case of:

• Mechanical failure
• Accidents
• Theft or attempted theft
• Any other emergency requiring assistance

11. Privacy and Data Protection

We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa. Your personal information will be used solely for rental purposes and will not be shared with third parties except as required by law.

12. Limitation of Liability

We shall not be liable for:

• Indirect or consequential losses
• Loss of earnings or business opportunities
• Personal belongings left in the vehicle
• Delays caused by traffic, weather, or other factors beyond our control

13. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of South African courts.

14. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
